It’s time to start thinking of ideas for a Jack-O-Lantern to carve into that pumpkin you’ve set aside.  Maybe you’ve been waiting for some inspiration or you’ve encountered a roadblock in your creative train of thought.  There are a variety of designs you can experiment with to perfect your pumpkin-carving experience.  Here are a couple categories you can think about when brainstorming:

Faces

Give your Jack-O-Lantern a face.  It can be pretty basic or extremely detailed if you’ve got some artistic ability you want to show off.  These tend to be pretty easy on the generic level and you can do a lot with different shapes.

Pop Culture

Pop culture references are great.  Carve anything from your favorite brand’s logo to a cute cartoon character’s face.  Your design might be easier to recognize this way if it’s something that the average joe is exposed to pretty often.

 Animals

Go for a black cat or an upside-down bat for your design.  Fill it with silhouettes of creepy critters or furry companions.  Nobody can resist cute animals, even if they are only carved into a jack-o-lantern for the halloween season…
