Weekly Wears: April 14th
In light of the beautiful weather this weekend, and the musical and fashion festivities taking place on the west coast, I'm feeling very inspired by Coachella. For those of you who don't know what Coachella is, it is known as the hipster wonderland full of music, drinks, and untamed fashion. It's the center of spring fashion trends, and gives many designers, celebrities, and socialites inspiration for the upcoming season.
There were a few specific trends that I noticed consistently throughout all of the Coachella photos that I was basically stalking all weekend. Here are a few trends to try!
The first trend that I noticed and am absolutely obsessed with is round hippie sunglasses. This trend is famously worn on a daily basis by celebrity stylist turned designer Rachel Zoe. They fit almost any face shape and make your look appear extra contemporary.
The next trend that caught my attention was headwear. Fedora hats, sun hats, and headbands topped the heads of most girls pictured throughout Coachella. Personally, I just bought my first fedora and can't stop wearing it. They're comfortable and give you an excuse to have a lazy hair day, all while still making your look appear extra put together. Pair them with some rounded sunglasses and you'll have the Coachella style down to a T.
Fun cropped tops seemed to be the focal point of every outfit a the festival. Whether the top was paired with high waisted shorts or a maxi skirt, they looked amazing with any outfit. There are so many different kinds and prints that you can wear them with just about anything.
Lastly, vests were a huge fashion filling the crowds. Vests today are made in so many different prints and textures that they can dress any outfit up or down, depending on which vest you chose. Try pairing a camo vest with a black bandeau and some combat boots for an edgy look, or take a crochet vest (as pictured in the top left of this picture) and put it over a tan maxi dress topped off with some gold jewelry for the perfect spring day look.
Keep enjoying this beautiful weather readers, and don't be afraid to take some risks. Everyone at Coachella takes huge risks every day of the festival and they create trends that spread throughout the country, maybe a risk you take will spread too.
