Tackling Finals Week: Studying Style

As we get closer and closer to the end of the semester, the effort being put into our outfits tends to grow smaller and smaller. Oversized sweats and a baggy sweatshirt seem to be the outfit of choice for most during these stressful weeks. When I was in high school "sweats" did not exist in my vocabulary. Unfortunately, in college, I have succumbed to their convincing comfort and bought my first pair. However, just because finals are upon us does not mean we can't look good and be comfortable at the same time. I've put together some great looks that will have you feeling confident and cozy, leaving you ready to take on whatever this week has to throw at you.

This first look is casual, with little pops of sophistication. The maxi skirt gives the look a little more effort, while the braided top knot adds some spunk to your hair. The crew-neck and converse give the outfit just the right amount of comfort that you'll need while sitting in the library for hours on end. Keep your nails neutral during these next few weeks, as changing the color or dealing with chipped paint will just add another thing to your to-do list that you don't have time for.

This next look is a little more dressed up, perfect for that last meeting of the semester that you have to run to in between the library and an exam. This velvet skirt paired with tights and a crew-neck are a super comfortable combination. You can add a touch of jewelry and booties to look even more put together for the important moments of the day and then throw on a beanie when it's back to the library for a few more hours of cramming.

Leather leggings are a lot more comfortable than they sound, and have become a regular substitute for leggings for sweatpants. They add texture to any outfit, making even a worn out band t-shirt look put together. Throw on a cardigan to feel a little extra cozy and some booties to complete to outfit.

This outfit is my personal favorite. Like I stated earlier, you rarely catch me in a t-shirt or sweatshirt, however this past weekend I just so happened to throw on a t-shirt and my dads oversized zip-up and realized how well they complimented each other while passing by a mirror. I then threw on some leg warmers and hat just to accessorize the plain outfit. It was so comfortable I actually wore it out for lunch. *gasps*

For your last day of classes, show your fellow students not to give up hope in dressing nice. Grab a pair of maroon jeggings (I know, the word jeggings makes me squirm too, but I deem them acceptable in this case), paired with a fur vest and some boots. The outfit itself is super effortless to wear, but looks great to everyone around you. If you're feeling too stressed to put any effort into your hair, create a quick braid to finish off the look.

Feeling like you're dressed nice, while putting next to no effort into your outfit, will help you exude confidence and conquer these upcoming weeks. Good luck from the Trim Team.
