Top 7 Trends for the Summer
Summer is officially in the air, so here are the season’s top trends to try!
Trend 1: Strappy Sandals
Shoes are important accessories for the summer. While flip-flops are comfortable, the right pair of sandals can make your outfit look more polished and chic.
Gladiator sandals are cute, but I become obsessed with them when I see that they have a heel. Heels definitely step up your shoe game. You can pair them with anything—basic t-shirt & shorts or sundresses—to bring your outfit to the next level. Not to mention, they make you stand out among the sea of endless thong sandals! It’s hard to find such shoes at F21 or H&M.
Trend 2: Headbands
Stay goodbye to scarves and hello to headbands! They’re available in all colors, from basic black to coral pink, and in all prints—paisley, florals, polka dots, plaid… Headbands add a playful touch to your outfit while showing off your hair. And, best yet, if you’re feeling lazy with your hair, just put on a headband for an easy, good hair day.
Trend 3: Fruit Prints
Check out this tasteful trend! Show your love for summer by wearing clothes with your favorite fruits on them. This look is funky, fresh, and fun. It’s reminiscent of Fourth of July barbeques and childhood days spent on the playground. You can bring out your inner kid without having to dress like one.
Trend 4: Denim
Whether it’s jumpers, dresses, or jackets, denim is making an appearance both on and off the runway this summer. Take it back to the 70’s with these edgy pieces. I’m sure if you look through your parents’ closets, you’ll find similar items without having to pay a penny. And, you’ll look better than your parents did in these vintage inspired outfits.
Trend 5: Stripes
Stripes are such classics, perfect for low-key looks while retaining high style fashion. I adore this dress because it’s so easy to stay cool and comfortable while looking fashionable. I like the crop top for its subtle edginess. I can see myself pairing it with another striped skirt for a chic matched look, or a different bottom, and still look elegant. It’s important for your clothes to allow mobility, especially in the summer time. This dress and this crop top will let you move around easily whether you’re touring another country, having a picnic with your friends, or simply shopping at your local mall.
Trend 6: Midi Skirts
Take a break from mini and maxi skirts, and discover your love for midi skirts! The knee length is classy and feminine, bringing you right back to the 40’s and 60’s. Sold in all different styles, from pleated to body-con, and in all different prints, from floral to jacquard, these skirts offer the right balance of modern meets vintage. So channel your inner Jackie O., and go buy one!
Trend 7: Bohemian Touches
Coachella may be over, but that does not mean the boho trend is ending. In fact, it is just starting and evolving into a more sophisticated style. Summer is the perfect time for lace, crochet, whites, and rich prints. Combine all of them together to create a unique look of your own. Then, Instagram it and pretend like you just got back from the Hamptons.
