Trim's October & November Favorites
Now that Halloween is gone and the holiday season is really starting, I find various products and clothing items that catch my eye. I can tell this upcoming season is going to filled with about a million favorites but for now, here are the products I loved in October and the beginning of November.
John Masters Organics Shine ON
This leave-in hair product was not something that I stalked in stores for days. I wasn’t obsessing over reading reviews products for. I didn’t immediately send away for it. This product was a spur-of the moment, random purchase at Urban Outfitters in Union Square a few weeks ago because it was on sale and being the bargain product hungry shopper that I am, I HAD to have it in the moment. (Don’t follow my example, be a smart shopper). However, I’m very glad I did. The instructions read to put this product in damp hair after your shower for ultra-shine and softness. When I got home and actually read the reviews, I was nervous and a bit disappointed in the purchase. It didn’t seem to be too popular but I gave it a shot anyway. Now, I love this stuff. I just put in a small amount in my hair since my hair has the tendency to get very oily very quickly but it does exactly what it says its supposed to. I now find my hair feeling luxuriously soft and smooth every day and it is all because of a $10.00 sale.
Jo Malone Earl Grey and Cucumber
I’ve had my eye on Jo Malone fragrances for a while. These wildly popular, luxurious colognes are a bit on the pricey side, but if you are like me and you love to splurge on a good perfume, then this is the brand for you. I opted for the smaller size (30 ml) for $60.00. I chose the early grey and cucumber scent because it was unlike anything I have ever heard of before and I felt adventurous. It is light and fresh but so irresistible. Plus, unlike other perfumes, it actually lasts all day. I plan on purchasing more in the future or on putting it on my Christmas list. My next buy? Peony and Blush Suede or Nectarine Blossom and Honey.
Stila Magnificent Metals Foil Finish Eye Shadow:
If you are looking for make-up to complete your holiday outfit, look no further. This eye shadow collection is a new addition to the Stila Cosmetics brand. It was first put out early this fall, just in time for all the holiday glitz and glam. Available in 9 shades, these glamorous shadows can be worn lightly with just a layer or two or built upon to rock the full intensity “foil” look advertised. The high pigmentation is supposed to look like actual foil on the eye-lids and for me...sparkly and I’m obsessed. Right now I have the Comex Copper which I love but you need to be careful about caking this one on. It become intense quickly. I’ve also tried the Vintage Black Gold and Kitten shades and I adore them and plan to purchase them next.
David’s Teas- glitter and gold
I’ve always heard the hype around David’s Tea, but I never actually stepped foot in a store until recently. All I can say is, it is a tea-junkie’s paradise. With barrels on barrels of tea available, there is a flavor for everyone. When my friend told me that they sold a tea that sparkles, actually SPARKLES, I was automatically sold. I got a cup of the “Glitter & Gold” black tea which does in fact glimmer and shine when it’s brewed. The tea itself is delicious with cinnamon and vanilla flavors making the brutally cold days a bit more bearable.
Glass Tea Pot by Teavana
Renting an off-campus drab home, I try to incorporate a variety of decorations into my house to make it more lively and less “Junky College Home”. A teapot/kettle is no exception. Here is just another tea-related favorite to show how obsessed I truly am. When I first moved into my house this fall, I needed a new teapot/kettle for my own. I wanted something unique and far from boring. I came across this glass kettle on Amazon and I was hooked. It is so classy and chic, I love it. I was a little worried at first about how a glass kettle could even survive. You would think it would shatter or crack but I’ve yet to have a problem with that so far. I love my glass kettle, it just adds to my cheesy tea experience.
Green - Diane Coffee
This song was recently introduced to me by a friend who was actually supposed to be in this music video. I heard it once and I fell in love. This is my first time ever listening to Diane Coffee and I was extremely impressed right off the bat. Shaun Fleming, or Diane Coffee, grabs all ears with his songs but Green was the one that got me started. With vintage vibes and lovely lyrics, this song will stick in your mind for days (but don’t worry, you’ll want it to).
And there you have it! It wasn’t the usual overwhelmingly long list, but the products above are still pretty good! Look for more next month (I’m sure there will be a million).
